Simple Scapes was established in 2014. Family owned in Kansas City, Missouri. Brothers Shawn & Lucas have over 30 years combined experience in their field. Passionate about what they do and how they deliver it. They offer a wide variety of services / installations including : Patios, Walls, Landscaping, Outdoor Living, Hardscaping, Water features, Low- Voltage Lighting, Design, Decorative Pots, Hardscape Repair & Maintenance, Drainage Solutions, Pergolas, and more.
They get all aspects of a project done right from the design process to the installation finish. Their mission is to listen to what the customer really wants, observe the science and art behind what’s possible, and offer a unique experience. The quality and old world craftsmanship of our work speaks for itself.
MEET THE OWNER SHAWN MIQUELON
Shawn lives a creative lifestyle as he also is a multi-instrumental musician and a competitive jujitsu practitioner. He has three beautiful daughters and loves to make memories with them by making home cooked meals, going on camping trips, enjoying pool days and movie nights.
Shawn is very passionate about Simple Scapes and derives real joy from helping others. One of Shawn’s favorite parts of the process is designing hardscape and landscape designs because it allows him to use his creative mind and be physically active.

MEET THE CO-FOUNDER LUCAS MIQUELON
Lucas has always gravitated towards building and creating things with his hands. Simple Scapes allows him to create lasting art that can be enjoyed by others for many years. He loves building hardscapes the most but enjoys the manual labor and all the different variables involved in the job. Lucas & his brother Shawn work as a team on all jobs and ensure every step is done correctly.
In his free time he’s usually traveling , exploring the outdoors, lifting weights, cooking , or hanging with any of his six nieces. He’s also a “Big” at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City and loves his time with his “Little”. They have an adventure wherever they go.
